Lipoderma and Renuva Together: The Biologic Combination Quietly Changing How We Approach Facial Aging

By Gica (Angelica), FNP, Owner, The Beauty Fix Med Spa · Scottsdale, AZ

When I first began exploring what was possible with biologics, one of the most exciting realizations was this: two treatments, each powerful on their own, can do something extraordinary when used together.

That’s the story of Lipoderma and Renuva.

If you’ve read our previous post on Lipoderma, you already know what makes it special. Today, I want to introduce Renuva and explain why these two treatments, used as a strategic combination, represent one of the most advanced approaches to natural facial rejuvenation available right now.

What Is Renuva?

Renuva is an off-the-shelf allograft adipose matrix — which is a clinical way of saying it’s a purified, processed form of human adipose (fat) tissue that has been prepared to act as a scaffold and regenerative signal for your body’s own fat cells.

When Renuva is injected, your body’s existing fat cells migrate into the matrix, populate it, and eventually replace the allograft material entirely with your own living fat tissue. The end result isn’t a foreign substance sitting in your face — it’s your own biology, restored.

Renuva is particularly well-suited for:

  • Restoring lost volume in the temples, cheeks, and lower face
  • Addressing hollowness under the eyes and in the mid-face
  • Providing a soft, natural-feeling fullness that moves with your face
  • Areas where the fat compartments have atrophied over time

How Lipoderma and Renuva Work Together

Renuva provides the scaffold and the signal — it creates the environment your body’s fat cells need to regenerate. Lipoderma delivers the cells and the biological architecture to support them. When used in combination, they address facial aging at multiple levels simultaneously:

  • Renuva creates a regenerative environment where fat cells can repopulate and thrive
  • Lipoderma introduces adipose-derived cells and extracellular matrix to nourish and restore the tissue at a biological level
  • Together, they support both volume restoration and tissue quality improvement — two distinct aspects of how faces age

Think of it this way: Renuva prepares the home. Lipoderma brings the residents and the furnishings. The result is a face that doesn’t just look fuller — it looks healthier.

The Results Are Different Here

One of the things patients notice most after this combination treatment is that their results don’t look “done.” They look rested. Refreshed. Themselves — from a few years ago.

That’s by design. When we restore the face biologically, using materials that the body integrates rather than merely accommodates, the results tend to be:

  • More natural in appearance and feel
  • Longer-lasting, because the body is building and maintaining the tissue itself
  • Progressive — improving over weeks and months as the biology matures
  • Lower-maintenance, because we’re working with aging rather than against it

Is This Combination Right for You?

This protocol tends to be a wonderful fit for patients who:

  • Are experiencing facial volume loss that feels “diffuse” — a general thinning or flattening rather than one specific area
  • Have tried fillers but felt the results looked unnatural or required frequent touch-ups
  • Are focused on long-term skin and tissue health, not just immediate results
  • Want to invest in their face in a meaningful, medically sound way

From My Treatment Table

Combining Lipoderma and Renuva is one of my favorite things to do for the right patient. There’s something deeply satisfying about watching someone’s face — not just their volume — come back to life. The quality of the skin changes. The way light hits the face changes. It’s subtle, and it’s stunning.

If you’re curious about this combination, a consultation is the best place to start. We’ll look at your face together, talk through your goals, and make sure this is the right approach for where you are in your journey.
